Maear first appeared in the industry in 2010 with his Lewi White (Ed Sheeran, Devlin, Wiley) produced banger ‘I am The Raver,’ which lead to a feature in RWD magazine’s ‘best of British’ edition and a BBC 1xtra debut by Roll Deep’s DJ Target.  After a change of perspective and a few months of hibernating in the countryside, Maear began to write the Sex & The City EP and teamed up with Tunnel Lite Records Producers Will Lite and Tony Bones to produce and record it. Two years later brandishing a finished product, Maear describes it as “the beginning to the unveiling of reality.”

Sex & the City Episodes 1 – 6 EP will be followed up with Sex & the City Episodes 7 – 12 & Episodes 13 – 18, and they will both be released prior to Maear’s debut album Love & The City.  From start to finish the project is an artistic display of gradual spiritual evolution told through story, depicting different trials and tribulations people go through on their journey of discovery. The project is designed to unveil universal truth as, bit by bit, it embeds itself into the psyche of the individual until the earth puzzle is complete. Follow the journey as more will be revealed.

Tonochrome - Tonochrome EP

Press Release
Introducing to you Tonochrome, a fresh 5-piece London band who recently released their self-entitled debut EP, via ‘Rough Trade’ and ‘Bandcamp.’ Their music is best described as 21st century alternative rock.

Having only formed in September 2011 the band have progressed leaps and bounds. The EP which was recorded throughout a mild winter in Brooklyn, marked the beginning of the journey. On their return to London early 2012, they made a huge impression on the London gigging circuit, and managed to have the rest of the year fully booked up by summer.

Tonochrome’s EP hits somewhere like a lost gem from the mid 90s American underground and forward-thinking balladry. Their debut is immersed in contemporary soundscaping with a mix of electronic elements, truly organic rock riffs and odd meters, occasionally cavernous reverby production and some heartfelt, direct songwriting which is bolstered by the production flourishes. In collaboration with Norwegian artist Hedvig S. Thorkilsen, they created a unique series of silk prints, one used as the EP cover and another printed on an aluminum plate, cut into 16 pieces and packaged as a unique limited edition series of the EP.

The band consisting of Mike Elliot (bass, voice), Charlie Cawood (guitar), Steve Holmes (keys, voice, percussion), Andres Razzini (voice, guitar) and Agelis Zevgoulas (drums) have a bright future stating “Since the EP the writing process has developed into a much more collective affair, taking advantage of everyone’s rich musicianship and complementary different musical backgrounds, with a clear direction and a wide spectrum of ideas evolving.”

Joe Doris - A Behemoth

Press Release
After a smashing summer on the festival scene with his band The Kickliner, Joe Doris is releasing his latest EP entitled ‘A Behemoth.’ The 5 track EP produced by none other then Jay Dean (LostAlone, Komakino, Joan As Police Woman) will add to the ever growing catalogue of his music as a solo artist, and with his band who have already recorded with Alan Smyth, also highly regarded within the industry, working with the likes of Blood Red Shoes, 65daysofstatic and Pulp.

The 23 year old from Derby loves 60’s music and you can sense the influence in his music, more particularly on ‘Let her down,’ which is a song “about advising a friend to inform their girl that her love isn’t reciprocated anymore.” Joe stresses the importance of interesting song writing and lyricism and states, “there’s no excuse for bad lyrics.”

The EP is an array of delicate and restrained songs intertwined with subtle wordplay. The title track, ‘A Behemoth’ depicts a surreal weed infused journey as Joe entices a love interest into his world.
